On Saturday 22nd June 2024, the Royal Variety Charity hosted its summer party in the grounds of Brinsworth House in Twickenham and used the occasion to unveil 10 new blue plaques to honour former residents of the care home.
The former residents honored with a blue plaque were:
SIR NORMAN WISDOM OBE - comedian
PEARL CARR & TEDDY JOHNSON – variety artistes
LESLIE GRANTHAM - actor
MONA HAMMOND OBE – actor
DUNCAN JOHNSON – DJ
SERGE GANJOU – variety artiste
ALXANDER ’BOBBY’ KOK – cellist
JOY & MANNY FRANCOIS – variety artistes
STEVE CLARK – tap dancer
MIKE YARWOOD OBE – impressionist
The event was hosted by legendary DJ, Mike Read, and included entertainment throughout the afternoon, including STRINGFEVER, CHRISTINA JOHNSTON, JAY & JOSS & BOBBY CRUSH.
